Using Data to Manage Uncertainty During and After COVID-19
Rather than focus and react to quarterly earnings and share price, family and multi-generation businesses need to take a much longer view while still adjusting to volatility in the marketplace. Focusing on the goal, the long-term legacy of the family business, leads us to a different perspective on navigating through challenges. Rather than making quick, gut reactions, attend this session to learn longer term strategies to managing your data to help navigate through both down and the coming upswings in the marketplace.
- Rather than line of sight or gut feel, use data to tell the story of what's happening in the business, AND the trends of what's likely to happen next
- Learn techniques to gain visibility into trends and then dive deeper to interpret them. Traditional year over year analysis is challenging, but combining long and short term trends can create a clearer picture.
- Focus on the business first, then the technology. In other words, don't fall into the sales trap of buying a tool that promises visibility.
- Use this time to plan and prepare for the shift, rather than reacting to each bump: the longer-term perspective will allow you to prepare for the upswing, which may be fast and abnormal. This can be a differentiator to your competition.
